About Devamrita Swami

Devamrita Swami is a monk whose profound dedication to the spiritual path spans four decades. It was in 1972 that he first came in contact with the ancient wisdom of the East. His attraction to this transcendental knowledge was immediate and the effect profound; though a graduate of Yale University, he discovered that this would be the start of his real education. Since that time, through constant spiritual practice Devamrita Swami has matured in his understanding of these ancient truths and now spends his time sharing his realizations with others.
Devamrita Swami is the founder of the Institute of Sustainability, an advisor on 'spiritual economics' to the Russian Chamber of Commerce, and the author of several books, such as Searching for Vedic India, Perfect Escape, Beyond the Barriers of Limited Science, and Spiritual Greed. His strategic guidance has been invaluable to those seeking to balance their spiritual and professional lives.
To share what he's learned Devamrita Swami currently travels around the world to prestigious institutions like Columbia University, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Cardiff University, the University of Toronto, the Rotman School of Business, the Indian Institute of Technology, and many others. The main stops on his global circuit are Australia, New Zealand, North America, Argentina, Chile, India, Russia, South Africa, Central Europe, Scandinavia, and the UK. This is his fourth annual visit to Toronto. In the past three years he has addressed thousands of people on topics as diverse as yoga, environmentalism, vegetarianism, and spiritual economics.
